The 4th Test between India and England will be hosted at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester. England leads the series 2-1 after their comeback win at Lord's Cricket Ground.

Since the 3rd Test, the visitors have been hit by an injury crisis. Arshdeep Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Akash Deep have all been ruled out of the 4th Test. This opens up opportunities for players like Anshul Kamboj and Dhruv Jurel, who are expected to feature in this match. Check out the complete line-up ahead of the 4th Test in Manchester.

Reliable Jaiswal & Rahul to Open

India’s left-right opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul will continue at the top. Both are in good form this series, having scored three centuries between them in the first three tests. The pair has been effective at the top, negotiating the new ball well and consistently providing solid opening partnerships for the 1st wicket.

Inconsistent Karun Nair’s one last chance

The number 3 spot hasn’t quite delivered this series. Sai Sudharsan fell early in the 1st Test, and Karun Nair, promoted from number 5, has yet to make a notable impact. Despite getting a few starts, he’s still searching for his first half-century of the series. With India already making several changes, Karun Nair is expected to get another opportunity in this match.

Power-Packed Middle Order Featuring Gill, Pant & Jadeja

Shubman Gill will bat at number 4. The Indian skipper has been in superb form, averaging 101 in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, and continues to deliver consistently in this role. At number 5, Rishabh Pant will continue in the middle order, maintaining his good form and complementing his captain well.

Ravindra Jadeja will take the number 6 spot. The all-rounder has been a rock in the lower middle order, notching up four consecutive fifties. His unbeaten 62* at Lord’s was widely praised, showcasing a gritty, old-school Test knock under pressure.

Dhruv Jurel is expected to replace Nitish Kumar Reddy

With Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out due to injury, Dhruv Jurel is expected to start at number 7. He showed promise in the unofficial Tests and briefly filled in behind the stumps during the 3rd Test when Pant was nursing an injury.

Sundar, Siraj, and Bumrah Retain Spot, Kamboj Likely to Debut

Washington Sundar is expected to retain his spot at number 8. With the Manchester surface likely to assist spinners, there could be a temptation to bring in Kuldeep Yadav. However, Sundar has taken wickets and, with Gambhir's clear preference for all-round options, he is expected to hold his place.

Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack once again. The duo has picked up a combined 25 wickets across three Tests and continues to be India’s go-to partnership with the ball. With Akash Deep unavailable, Anshul Kamboj is likely to get the nod ahead of Prasidh Krishna, who hasn’t made the most of his chances in the first two Tests.
