Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has hit out against fake news of her hugging Rajasthan Royals wonder boy Vaibhav Suryavanshi after the match.
The southpaw played an impactful innings of 40 runs off 15 balls with his side chasing 220 runs to win. Ultimately, the Royals could muster 209 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs and lost the match by 10 runs.
This was the eighth win for Punjab Kings, one that took them to 17 points after 12 games in IPL 2025. Their IPL 2025 qualification was already sealed with GT beating Delhi Capitals on Sunday.

Preity Zinta Fumes After Morphed Images Leak
Meanwhile, the owner of Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta, was frustrated over a morphed image of her hugging Vaibhav Suryavanshi after the match. The photo went viral on social media just moments after the match ended. However, the real interaction between the two was posted by the Rajasthan Royals Twitter handle.
Zinta met Vaibhav after the match and wished him good luck and best wishes for his innings, but she never hugged the young boy. On figuring out that the morphed image of her hugging him went viral on social media, she was miffed and expressed her anger with a statement on Twitter.

Several reports have confirmed that it was indeed fake news, including the news agency PTI.
With the win over Rajasthan Royals, PBKS have inched closer to a top-two finish. They have matches remaining against DC and MI will will be playing a game each other as well in a bid to make the final four.
BCCI Announces Venues For IPL 2025 Playoffs
Meanwhile, the BCCI already announced the venues for the IPL 2025 playoffs on May 20, Tuesday. Mullanpur will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, while the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Qualifier 2 and the final. Previously, Hyderabad and Kolkata were the stipulated venues for the playoffs.
